RABEN GROUP FOCUSES ON EXPANDING TÜRKİYE’S LOGISTICS MARKET

2025.09.16
Raben Group, which recently invested in Türkiye by bringing nearly a century of global logistics expertise, shared its future plans and ambitions at a press conference. Regional Director Bartłomiej Łapiński emphasized the company’s strong belief in Türkiye’s potential, stating that Raben is committed to providing cost-efficient, traceable, and transparent solutions for exporters of all sizes. Raben Türkiye’s Managing Director Selman Çoban underlined that operations in Türkiye have been progressing faster than expected and announced that new warehouse and branch investments are planned for 2026 to further strengthen their presence.

As one of Europe’s most experienced players in the logistics industry, Raben Group completed its Türkiye setup in June and officially launched its services. With nearly 20 million shipments annualy carried out last year, 2 million m² of warehouse space, and 12,200 employees, the company presented its investments and future vision for the Turkish market during the press event held at Çırağan Palace, attended by Regional Director Bartłomiej Łapiński and Raben Türkiye Managing Director Selman Çoban.

“Türkiye: More Than a Narrative, a True Logistics Bridge”

Taking the floor first, Bartłomiej Łapiński drew attention to the dynamism of Türkiye’s economy and stated:
Türkiye’s logistics sector has rapidly risen in global rankings in recent years and holds significant potential. We are truly pleased to share our nearly century-long logistics expertise with Türkiye.”

Highlighting Türkiye’s unique geographical position, Łapiński continued:
Türkiye has long been described as a bridge in international trade and logistics. For us, this is more than just a narrative—it is a tangible opportunity and reality. As Raben Group, we invested here to support this potential and stand by both exporters and importers.”

He further underlined that the Netherlands-based company has achieved significant volumes across Europe with the right business and investment models:
Just as with our previous investments, we are confident of our success in Türkiye. In the medium term, we aim to position Türkiye as a strategic transit hub for our operations across the EU, CIS, the Middle East, and China."

Investments in Türkiye to Continue

Raben Türkiye’s Managing Director Selman Çoban emphasized that with their successful operations, the company has become one of the strongest players in Europe, particularly in groupage transport. Pointing out that operations in Türkiye are progressing faster than anticipated, Çoban noted that the first priority is to expand their groupage transport infrastructure locally.

He underlined the importance of warehousing in their Türkiye setup, explaining that they began with a 2,000 m² warehouse on the European side of Istanbul and will continue to invest in storage facilities in the coming year. Following the establishment of their Istanbul headquarters, Raben also opened an office in Bursa within a short period.

Çoban further announced:
By 2026, we will open new branches in İzmir, Ankara, and Mersin. In the first half of 2026, we are also planning warehouse investments in Istanbul’s Asian side and in Bursa. Within three years, our target is to reach a turnover of €30 million in Türkiye.”

“We Didn’t Come to Take a Share—We Came to Grow the Market”

Çoban highlighted that Raben’s aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of Turkish exporters against their European and Chinese counterparts:
“Our primary goal is not to take a share of the existing logistics market, but to grow the market. We operate with a model that enables Turkish companies to increase their exports to Europe. As exporters become more competitive, exports rise, and the logistics market expands. With a transparent, traceable business model and accurate cost management, we will make life easier for Turkish exporters and help them grow their business volumes. In this way, we offer solutions that will increase Türkiye’s export capacity and expand the logistics market.”

“Regular Shuttle Services for Groupage Transport”

Highlighting the importance of groupage transport for Türkiye’s exports, Çoban stated:
“Groupage transport is one of the cornerstones of Türkiye’s export economy. Today, every exporting company may have small-scale shipments, and a significant portion of shipments from small and medium-sized enterprises consists of just one or a few pallets. Alongside the large-scale companies we already serve, we ensure that SMEs also benefit from our services. Using our fleet of approximately 13,500 vehicles, we deliver the goods of large, small, and micro businesses quickly and safely through regular shuttle services. Groupage shipments are consolidated and prepared for distribution at about 170 locations, including our Türkiye warehouse as well as, among others, facilities in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany, covering a total of approximately 2 million m² of storage space.”
