Raben celebrates the extension of the depot in Eisenach

2019.06.18
In June 2019, Raben Group officially opened its expanded location in Eisenach. Two and a half years after the beginning of the investment, the invited guests could visit the modern warehouses, workshop with a car wash and new offices. The logistics operator has invested a total of 6.5 million Euro to increase its presence in the Thuringia region.

Among the guests invited to the opening ceremony, there were representatives of the development company Thüringen (LEG), the logistics network Thüringen, as well as customers and employees of Raben Group. After completing extensive construction works, the logistics operator currently has 40% more warehouse capacity in the Eisenach depot, which was taken over by Raben Group from the Wincanton network in 2011.

Thanks to the additional warehouse space, we have adapted to the growing demand for warehouses and logistics services and have laid the groundwork for further development,” emphasizes Peter Jacobs, Branch Director of Raben Trans European Germany in Eisenach.

Raben Group in Eisenach currently employs approximately 165 employees. In addition to groupage, LTL and FTL transports, the depot also offers sequencing, picking as well as just-in-time and just-in-sequence supplies for the automotive industry. In addition, the Eisenach location offers tailor-made logistics solutions and customs clearance services.

"Eisenach is not only a location in the heart of Germany, but also a bridge connecting the markets of Western and Eastern Europe. The branch also acts as a HUB for Raben Trans European Germany both for domestic and international transport and therefore it operates 24 hours a day in a multi-shift mode” - said Ewald Raben, CEO of the Raben Group.

In total, Raben Group in Eisenach offers its customers four logistic warehouses and two cross-dock warehouses. A total of 74 loading docks are available for loading and unloading operations. Customers of Raben Group in Eisenach represent not only the automotive industry, but also metallurgy and packaging, paper processing, road and building construction, as well as construction technology.
