The purpose of the event was to show employees’ children the Raben world of transport and logistics. Therefore, most of the attractions prepared for this day were supposed to take the special guests into the world of transport and logistics and to make them feel like Raben Group employees for a while.
“The biggest challenge that we had to face when organizing an Open Day for families was to offer attractions that would satisfy a demanding and very diverse group of recipients - the event participants included both 3- and 14-year-olds.” - says Ewa Mendak, HR Manager, Raben Logistics Polska, and she adds - “I hope that some of the children got hooked on Raben and in the future they will want to tie their professional career with logistics and Raben Group.”
Younger children could take a look at the path of a product from the moment it is picked up from the customer until the delivery to the final recipient. In this case, however, the product was a hand-made lollipop, the process of packaging was based on decorating eco bags, and the transport was shown through a virtual reality truck.
Slightly older children participated in workshops organized by office staff. The Genius Lab team (R&D Department) presented modern technologies used in logistics. In addition, the guests could take advantage of a workshop on transport networks and see the presentation of the educational platform devoted to road safety www.niebadzdziki.pl.
To make each guest feel like a true Raben employee - one of the attractions was a meeting with Ewald Raben - the company CEO. He shared the secrets of his professional success with the gathered children. How to transform a small, 12-person company into an international organization with over 10,000 employees in 12 European countries within just 28 years? The answer, according to the Raben CEO, is simple - you have to like what you are doing. The main message that Ewald passed to the children was that in order to be successful, you have to demonstrate full commitment and perseverance, and this is possible only when work is our passion.
Additional attractions prepared for this day included also face painting, a big soap bubbles show, bouncy castles, a photo booth and the traditional Raben attraction - the opportunity to take a seat at the wheel of a truck.
The Open Day was received positively - all the children, both younger and older, had smiles on their faces.
More than 300 people took part in the event organized at the end of May 2019.
