Innovative Mercedes Actros tractor units in the Raben Group fleet

2019.10.02
Road safety is non-negotiable for Raben Group so once again it has chosen Mercedes-Benz as its partner. On October 1, in the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Warszawa, the largest Polish logistics operator received the latest model of Actros equipped with MirrorCam cameras and Blind Spot Assist. Ultimately, the Raben fleet will have ten more such tractor units. They will allow for driving in an even more economical and, above all, extremely safe manner.

Raben Group and Mercedes-Benz Trucks Polska have had a long and fruitful cooperation. The best proof of this is the fact that soon there will be almost 450 Mercedes Actros tractor units in the fleet used by this logistics operator, including the latest acquisitions. Under the current order, Raben Group's fleet is being expanded by ten new models with innovative equipment. The first tractor unit was handed over on October 1 in Emilianów near Warsaw. During the ceremony in the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Warszawa, Paweł Trębicki, General Director of Raben Transport, a Raben Group company, received the keys to the vehicle from the hands of the Sales Director, Grzegorz Radomyski, and representatives of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Polska.

“For me and for my whole team, selling a truck to a customer is not the end; it's just the beginning of a good cooperation. Mercedes-Benz Trucks Warszawa wants not only to drive the business of its customers, but also to have a real impact on the functioning of their companies. Each subsequent purchase is a confirmation of the quality of our work, the trust placed in us by our customers, and also a proof that we have the best product and service on the market.” - says Grzegorz Radomyski, Truck Sales Director, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Warszawa.

The new Mercedes Actros trucks are equipped with the latest generation OM 471 engines with 330kw (450KM) power and 2200 Nm torque and the Predictive Powertrain Control system. They stand out for their outstanding performance thanks to their optimised aerodynamic design and economical engine and, most importantly, thanks to their advanced safety systems. The standard equipment includes solutions such as the Electronic Stability Program, Lane Assist, Attention Assist and Follow-me-Home Headlights. The vehicles also have Active Brake Assist 5 and Active Drive Assist increasing driving comfort and safety. Additionally, while driving, the driver can take advantage of Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Trailer Stability Assist and Automatic High Beam with bend lighting. Finally, an absolute innovation: MirrorCam cameras, which replaced exterior mirrors in the new Actros, provide better visibility and greater safety when manoeuvring, turning and changing lanes, while also reducing fuel consumption.

“We are very pleased that the Raben fleet will be using the ultimate trucks of the future delivered by our reliable partner Mercedes-Benz Trucks Polska. Their equipment actively relieves the driver, protects the vehicle and the cargo, and increases the driving efficiency. These are invaluable advantages, but what matters most to us is that the new tractor units increase safety thanks to their innovative, groundbreaking solutions.” - says Paweł Trębicki, General Director of Raben Transport, a Raben Group company.

Investments in modern fleet are just some of the activities Raben Group undertakes for the benefit of the priority issue in the company - safety and health of its employees and other road users. The company also focuses on trainings so in the summer of 2018 it launched an educational platform under the slogan “Don't be wild!”, which aims to raise awareness, extend knowledge and build a mutual culture of road safety. The website www.niebadzdziki.pl offers access to 10 animations which show selected rules of safe behaviours on roads and manoeuvring yards. The e-training is mainly intended for truck and car drivers, but all road users can take part in it. Everyone who goes through all the animations receives a certificate of completion of the course.
