Medals of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in recognition of merits for the development of the Polish economy were presented to the representatives of 34 entities: enterprises, offices, foundations and organizations. Among them was Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group, which has been operating on the Polish market since 1991. The company, which 28 years ago started its operations in Poland with 12 employees and rented a warehouse in Baranowo near Poznań, today has 53 depots and employs over 5,000 people in the whole country. In addition, the Group has Business Units in 12 countries of Europe, it employs 10,000 workers and has approx. 1,200,000 m2 of warehouse capacity. All business operations are managed from the head office in Robakowo near Poznań.
“I feel honoured that I found myself in such a respectable company. I represent the third generation of the family, which has been dealing with the transport of goods since 1931, and practically all my professional life is connected to Poland. When I came here in the early 90’s of the last century, the economy was just starting to develop. The changes were very dynamic; they happened not only in front of our eyes, but also thanks to us.” - recalls Ewald Raben. - “I am very proud that we had a part in it and it has been recognized. I would like to dedicate this medal to those who, over a quarter of a century ago, trusted me, a young Dutch man who had a vision of creating an international logistics company, and all those who co-created it with me in later years. It is our mutual success which contributes to the growth of the Polish economy.” - he stressed.
The commemorative Medal of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence was established by a resolution of the Council of Ministers dated May 8, 2018, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of regaining Independence and to commemorate the revival of the Polish State. Medals of merit for the development of the Polish economy were presented on behalf of President of the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Technology and Digitalisation, Jadwiga Emilewicz.
