Raben Logistics Czech s.r.o. won the national round of the competition "Logistics Project of the Year 2024" of the Czech Logistics Association. The Dutch company has introduced a system of Eurohubs - logistics centers that connect Europe - for greater transport efficiency. One of them operates in the Pilsen region in Rokycany, where its services are also used by local companies.
Eurohub’s premises on the D5 motorway is equipped with 56 ramps that allow efficient transshipment of goods using BDF containers, which have a larger capacity than conventional semi-trailers. It handles 52 collecting lines daily and provides 45 direct connections. The annual capacity of this cross-dock exceeds 750,000 pallets.
The depot has significantly simplified and streamlined the logistics connections to Slovakia and to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. The transport capacity to our western neighbor has increased sevenfold.
"We handle 33 direct connections to Germany alone every day, guaranteeing our clients the fastest delivery times on the market. From a single pallet to a full load truck, delivery within 24 hours is unprecedented on the market. Thanks to our ten additional branches, we also cover the Czech Republic effectively," said Jakub Trnka, CEO of Raben Logistics Czech & Slovakia.
The Eurohub Rokycany has become a key point connecting Western and South-Eastern Europe, using a modern system for managing transport operations that increases the efficiency of journeys and minimizes low vehicle utilization. Thanks to the optimization of the transport network, the carbon footprint of the entire transport process has been significantly reduced. Part of the energy requirements of the Eurohub Rokycany building are covered by solar panels.
The Project of the Year Award was presented to Marián Budzel, Sales Director of Raben CZ & SK, at the SpeedCHAIN International conference in Prague.
"This success is the result of the joint work of all colleagues who cooperated on the project and without whose involvement, experience and inventiveness we would not have successfully implemented it in such a short time. It was a great honor to receive this award on behalf of all the members of this team," said Budzel.
Across the Czech Republic and Europe
The Eurohub Rokycany complements the network of five other Eurohubs located in the German localities of Sarstedt, Mönchengladbach, Fellbach and Aichach, as well as in Lehnice, Poland. These six Eurohubs ensure efficient logistics across Europe. In addition, the Rokycany Eurohub also offers flexible solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in various sectors.
“Our aim is, among other things, to contribute to the development of smaller local companies; our services are also suitable for them," says Jitka Kocálová, Raben's marketing manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The logistics company transports smaller and larger consignments to the next village as well as to the far corners of Europe. In the Czech Republic, Raben operates another 10 branches, including Prague, Brno and Ostrava, in addition to Rokycany. It thus covers the entire Czech market and can offer companies a fast and high-quality service. In total, Raben Group operates in 15 European countries.
