This has be the sixth planting action carried our by Raben Group employees with their families, the local community and the Aeris Futuro Foundation. This time, the volunteers met in the vicinity of Lake Chomęcickie near Poznań to plant 2,100 various trees as well as fruit and melliferous shrubs, which also add value to the fauna of the surrounding areas. The plants will neutralize 1575 tons of C02 during their life cycle. However, the pro-ecological aspect is not the only goal of these planting actions... They are also of an incentive character.
This year, more than 100 employees of the company invited their families and friends to plant trees together, spend time outdoors, and welcome the spring. There were plenty of attractions awaiting the participants: educational march through the forest, birdhouse-making workshop run by an expert, creative workshops with eco-toys, as well as a campfire and grilled sausages.
“I am very pleased with this year's campaign.” - said Jakub Krzewina, CSR Manager at Raben Group - “It's great when doing something together is the aim of integration - it's even better when the volunteers do something good for the environment. Add to this the possibility to build awareness of respecting the natural environment through fun, participation in workshops or educational marches. And all this on behalf of Raben Group customers - thanks to their resignation from paper invoices, we could plant over 2,000 trees together.”
Planting trees is the crowning achievement of the “e-invoice=higher culture” offset program in which Raben Group promotes ecological behaviours and shows its customers the advantages of electronic invoices over their paper equivalents. Each consent to accepting e-invoices means one tree planted on behalf of the customer. In 2018, as many as 2100 companies agreed to stop using paper invoices in favour of their electronic counterparts and, that is why, on 23 March 2019, the employees could plant that many trees on their behalf. The planting action was carried out jointly with the Wielkopolski National Park and the Aeris Futuro foundation.
“It was a day that will permanently stay in our hearts - wonderful weather, great team, work with the mission, amazing fun. Great respect to the Director of the Wielkopolska National Park - Zbigniew Sołtysiński, CEO Raben Group - Ewald Raben, and the General Director of Raben Logistics Polska - Janusz Anioł for theie commitment and active participation.” - Joanna Mieszkowicz, President of the Aeris Futuro Foundation, sums up the Saturday's action.
Raben Group has been planting trees as part of the “e-invoice=higher culture” program since 2014, during which time over 13,000 trees were planted in total.
