A particularly intensive period of growth has been noted in the last two years when Raben Germany used organic growth and acquisitions to achieve a position in which it can offer independent transport and forwarding services to customers in this country. As a result, at the beginning of 2018, Raben Group launched its own groupage network in Germany.
“Thanks to acquisition of the facility in Schüttorf, we have reached a milestone to establish our own independent distribution network in Germany, since Schüttorf is our 30th own network depot. The takeover of the Schuettorf branch is part of the planned and consistent expansion of the Raben groupage network in Germany.” – said Ewald Raben, CEO Raben Group.
The acquired branch in Schuettorf provides domestic and international groupage, FTL and LTL transport services. The transport operations are handled in a terminal of 4,500 sq. m. and 53 gates, which is situated in a traffic-convenient manner at an A30/A31 motorway junction. Therefore, it provides an optimum connection to the economic areas of Emsland, Osnabrücker and south-western Münsterland. The branch was part of THE GREENLINE, Gronau, whose history dates back to 1889 and which originated from Nellen & Quack.
Thanks to the agreement signed on September 18, 2018, Raben Trans European Germany will take over a complete branch in Schuettorf, including all subcontractors, assets, customers as well as employees for whom Raben plans to provide stable jobs. The transaction will be finalized on October 1, 2018, after meeting the requirements of the antitrust law.
