Raben Group implements the GS1 global standard

2017.09.27
Raben Group has implemented the independent global communication standards GS1 XML used for electronic data interchange between partners. The implementation will contribute to the cost reduction and shorter time of system integration between business partners.

The implementation of the GS1 XML global standard allows for orders and other transport message received and dispatched by Raben Group to have one standard form.
Thanks to the application of the new standard, the company has improved its efficiency due to process automation and minimizing the risks of errors which may occur during generation and analysis of transport documents. Benefits of the GS1 XML implementation:

  • shorter system integration between business partners
  • lower costs of projects based on electronic data interchange (EDI)
  • increased transparency of electronic transactions
  • faster reaction to errors connected with incorrect data in transport messages

'"Using standards in electronic data interchange brings measurable benefits to the organization: it cuts the integration time, lowers its costs and makes the integration process more predictable. Good standards should be documented in a detailed manner and they should contain clear guidance how to apply them. At the same time they must be precise, in order to minimise the freedom of interpretation, and flexible so as to follow the changing needs of the market. In Raben Group we believe the GS1 XML is such a standard in electronic data interchange” – comments Krzysztof Garstecki, EDI IT Manager in Raben Group.

“Global experience of GS1, based on implementations in 112 countries where we operate, allows us to implement innovative solutions locally, such as electronic data interchange in the context of transport messages. Thanks to the implementation of the global standard, Raben Group is able to offer problem-free and quick integration of customers with its own IT system. I’m sure that it is the foundation of effective communication in the supply chain” – summarizes Agata Horzela, GS1 standard expert in the TFL sector.Source: press release by GS1
