Dietician, masseur and ergonomist in Raben Group

2015.07.15
Work-life balance is gaining importance, both for employees and employers. It prevents diseases, professional burnout and reduces stress.
Today, when 200 thousand people die of cardiovascular diseases each year,[1] increasingly efficient diagnostics or better treatment methods do not bring too much help. It is essential to eliminate stress, increase physical activity, implement a balanced diet and maintain appropriate body mass. Caring for its Employees, Raben Group has been organizing the Healthy Week for four years now. The five-day programme promoting healthy lifestyle has been designed by wellness specialists from Wellness proVita Hotel from Kołobrzeg. Each day Employees receive newsletters, which this year concerned a balanced diet, properties of water, impact of physical activity on health, the power of positive thinking and expressing gratitude. Additionally, the participants of the programme could meet dieticians, fitness trainers, ergonomists, doctors, beauticians and masseurs. What is more, the participants of the Healthy Week took part in an almost 50-kilometre bicycle trip. This year's Healthy Week also promoted cultural entertainment, like theatre, through a performance called Rokendrol albo mów mi teściu, played on the "stage" of the Raben Transport truck service station. Work-life balance was also promoted through photography workshops.
An anonymous questionnaire carried out after the campaign showed that the Healthy Week persuaded 92% of Raben Group Employees to be more interested in healthy lifestyle and to devote more time to health."CSR people from many companies often face the criticism that socially responsible actions cannot be measured. Raben Group has a strategic approach to this issue hence all the actions have relevant indicators. The results of the questionnaire carried out after the Healthy Week were a positive surprise for us. The research showed that simple and consistent actions carried out in the last four years, which promote health and work-life balance, can do a lot of good by showing that taking care of mental and physical fitness does not take a lot of effort" - comments Marta Szymborska, CSR Leader Raben Group.
