Customers confirm a significant increase in productivity through own groupage network of Raben Germany

2018.05.22
About a quarter of a year after the launch of its own groupage network in Germany, Raben Group and its customers have a positive balance. The quality of delivery, punctuality and the quality of collections have better values compared to the previous year. To ensure a smooth transition from a partnership structure to an independent network, Raben Germany has spent months of intensive work on preparing resources, optimising routes and streamlining IT solutions.

Currently, 42 locations of Raben Germany and its partners are integrated being into one network. Every day, from 400 to 500 Raben trucks transports between 20,000 and 22,000 shipments in Germany. Of these, approximately 95 percent are serviced in direct traffic. Five percent goes through the national hub in Eisenach in Thuringia.

LG Electronics Germany GmbH is a long-term international customer of Raben Germany, which has experienced a significant improvement in quality since the shift to its own network at the turn of 2017/18:

“We’ve noticed a clear increase in performance and quality and that has continued all the time. Naturally, as a customer, we are all the more satisfied and we wish Raben Group continuing operations at the same high level in the future”, says Frank Hecker, Senior Supply Chain Manager at LG Electronics Deutschland GmbH.

Assessment after the first four months confirms that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are significantly higher than in previous years. In total, 3,000 employees in Germany currently work on achieving their objectives. “Now we are able to control our shipments much better. Due to the planned development of our capabilities, we can adopt further transport and logistics agreements in Germany in the future,” says Claus Wetzel, Managing Director, Domestic Transport, Raben Germany.

In the summer, Raben will finish construction works in Eisenach. The logistics service provider also wants to expand the logistics centre in Gütersloh over the next few years and is already looking for a suitable location. In addition, the new logistics location near Fahrbinde is due to start at the end of the year.

“I am very happy with our steady and sustainable growth in Germany. Initial reactions of our customers after the introduction of the independent network are very optimistic for me because we optimally accomplish the economic objectives of our customers,” says Ewald Raben, CEO Raben Group.

Currently, over 1000 customers are connected to myRaben platform, which allows them to check statuses and download reports.
