Raben organises its volunteer programme on the third occasion. The aim of the programme is to encourage volunteering activities for colleagues, especially to have a supportive and environment-friendly conduct for the benefit of others, thereby supporting and improving the local community.Within the volunteer programme organised this year, the board had to choose the best application from extremely creative and useful ones. The board consisted of László Szalay, the mayor of Dunaharaszti, Ibolya Jakus, the managing editor of HVG and Csaba Árvai, the managing director of Raben. Projects were evaluated based on the participation in the local community life, ecological value and creativity. The winning application was submitted by Erzsébet Szűcs: Working with animals and birds is one of the favourite activities of children in nursery school.
“Owing to storybooks, colouring books, cartoons and nature movies containing basic information on nature, children are aware of and love the animals around them, so if these (and the instruments available for their protection) are introduced to them in a playful, active manner in order to also develop logical and movement skills corresponding to their age, the protection of nature can be integrated into the education process of the nursery school even more.” (www.mme.hu)The nature trail was constructed in several phases, where employees of Raben worked as a real team to create a bird-friendly environment around the nursery school. Planters were made from pallets, they were painted, and herbs were planted into them. The opening ceremony of the new, bird-friendly garden of the nursery school was held on 11 May 2017, where Beáta Kenessey highlighted:
“I am very happy that large companies in the area consider our nursery schools. The Raben company immediately realised the cooperation organised for the construction of the educational nature path and herb garden, so it was one of the first companies to join our innovation. We are going to keep the excellent relationship with the management and the employees of the company.” “
Each year, our colleagues submit applications with more and more creative and useful ideas. We trust that these programmes help emphasise the importance of caring about the environment and the society.” , said Ágnes Bolyki, the PR and marketing specialist and CSR coordinator of Raben Trans European Hungary Kft.
