On the 9th of October, 2009 the ceremony of announcing results of the 1st Ukrainian national rating LOGISTICS AWARD UKRAINE-2009 took place. It was organized by the Ukrainian Logistics Association (ULA) with the assistance of the European Logistics Association (ELA).

Leading Ukrainian logistics operators and freight-forwarding companies, as well as IT logistics solutions providers participated in the rating. Diplomas of honour were awarded by Maria Grigorak, President of ULA, and Antoni Alfonz, President of ELA.

According to the rating Raben Ukraine has become the only logistics company which won in three nominations of the LOGISTICS AWARD UKRAINE-2009, namely:

• ‘Best logistics operator 2009’ (for comprehensiveness of services)
• ‘Best warehousing services provider 2009’
• ‘Best logistics solution 2009’ (for opening the 1st professional cross-dock in Ukraine)

It was the first time the national rating was conducted among logistics companies in Ukraine. Methodology used for the rating was borrowed from ELA and complemented by the experience of holding similar logistics rating in the Russian Federation. The following major criteria were used to define the winners of the national rating:

• comprehensiveness of services (number of services and logistics functions embraced)
• company image (working period and geography, openness, fame, reputation, competitive advantages)
• company competence level
• technical and technological equipment
• financial situation
• scope of work and services
• economic effectiveness and quality of logistics solutions.

The main principle of this methodology is transparency that among other things foresees free of charge and voluntary participation for all rating participants.

According to Andrzej Kozlowski, Director of Raben Ukraine, winning three nominations and high rating became possible only due to an effective dialogue and partnership with Clients because for meeting Clients’ demands every company strives to become the best on the market.
